>> good morning med. i'm jamie costello. >> before we get do all the results let's get to weather and see how it is shaping up today. >> pretty good weather. no debate on this one. we have a nice weather pattern and fairly normal condition the. 48 minutes to sunrise. mostly clear this morning. we're chilly and some of us have patchy fog in baltimore county and some of the per riv fry of the valley reservoirs. we have hurricane igor, still category 4. julia upgraded to category 4. karl about to hit mexico. a lot to talk about, but currently we're dry. we are looking at temperatures ranging from 56 degrees right now. 58 there.

54 on the eastern shore in chester town. mostly sunny sky. the high reaches 78 this afternoon. our traffic update now with kim brown. >> thanks justin. this morning we have traffic jammed across the interloop span on the key bridge and only one lane getting by at this time. expect a delay there. a struck pedestrian at ritchie highway and 9th avenue. no delays or problems there. that is a five minute trip. about a 3 men it right there. no issues on the top side. you're going to see traffic moving pretty well here. no issues on the harriersburg expressway on warren road. traffic looks pretty good. megan and jamie back to you. >> if you went to bed and you didn't know who won the race for top prosecutor, things look

good for burnstein but we still don't know who won. linda. >> reporter: even though it looks like burnstein has won, an cen tee ballots have not been counted and they will be the deciding factor in this race. both camps say they will regroup this morning to look over the results. burnstein has 49% of the vote. 1400 votes separate the two. there are still thousands of absentee ballots that have not beenouted. they will start tallying those votes on thursday. 1600 of them have been returned. that could be a large enough number to change the votes in the race. they ran a good race. >> from all the polling places that we went to throughout the day, we got the same level of

enthusiasm and excitement that we have gotten throughout this campaign and we have gone through neighborhoods all over the city. >> we're confident that the voters elected the best person so we'll await the return. so again with 100% of the precincts reporting burnstein leads with about 1400 votes but absentee ballots have yet to be counted. 6:03. sherrie johnson is live weather that race. >> it is one of the hottest race as round, and take a look at the screen here. this morning it is the closest primary race in decades for this office. right now about 94% of the

precincts are reporting. kevin is leading with about 52% of the votes and joe has about 44% of the votes. kevin is a lawyer and joe is a farmer. both served four terms on the county council and both camps gave upbeat reports late into the night. >> we're waiting to get the official numbers and then we'll know. it is kind of nerve-racking waiting but there is nothing else you can do. >> things are looking good. our numbers are trending in the right direction. we're waiting. now turnout was pretty low yesterday with about 15% to 20% voter turnout but in the meantime the winner from that race will go up against republican ken holt. not much with the gubernatorial primaries. on the republican side, former

views. as rare as it is to have one category 4 storm, 15% of the top tier reached that. hurricane igor and hurricane julia both category 4 in the open waters of the atlantic. these are coming from the space station whereas doughnuts are tracking the storms. those are beautiful. we can see what is looking like right now. julia winds upgraded this morning to category 4 strength at 145-mile-an-hour winds. this is going to stay in the open waters of the atlantic. we'll have to focus our attention on what will be the threat. igor. winds were 155 overnight, but they are 145.

this could be a direct smack with winds of 115 when it makes landfall in bermuda this weekend. it stays well off the east coast and no weather, just waves for ocean city this weekend. now we'll take you to a third named system. this one about to slam in through the yucatan pen thin sue l of mexico karl up to 65 miles per hour. almost a hurricane strength. there is another landfall on the western track restrengthening and reaching the central mexican coastline. it stays south of the texas. this got hit with alex earlier in the season. two could make landfall in the upcoming week. locally we're just quiet.

high pressure in control. a fairly seasonal set up with 55 degrees in baltimore. the leaves are starting to turn. these chilly mornings help it to do so. we have patchy fog this morning so that could be something you have to drive through on your way in. it is nothing more than a few isolated spots. high pressure in control. the next weather system could throw afternoon clouds in. thunderstorms thursday evening. they could survive through friday morning. it could be a morning event on friday. until then, a beautiful day setting up today. 78 degrees. we're expecting temperatures in the upper 70s turning partly cloudy. temperatures should briefly hit 80 on the eastern store. we're down to 56 tonight and extended outlook calls for an isolated shower late in the day or in the evening thursday.

78 with early showers or storms on friday. 79 saturday. 83 sunday. mid-80s through early next week. here is kim brown with traffic. >> well justin as you make your way up and down 95 and the harris berg expressway, traffic is moving well. no incidents on 95 or 83. this is the interloop of the key bridge and this is not moving fast at all. we have a crash blocking the right lane. traffic begins to jam as you approach the toll plaza so i would try to avoid the key bridge as we look here, another glimpse of the traffic. delays running over 15 to 20 minutes so avoid if possible. >> we are working one more accident. this is going to be in brooklyn park, a struck pedestrian. police and emergency crews are on the scene there. expect delays there.

chance they may take the senate as well. it would be a republican driven congress and many times when we look at this change this is beneficial for the markets for the very reason that if everything slows down, meaning the passing of big bills and big spending and some of the regulatory issues, if that gridlock occurs, the fight between the two, that could be been firm for the markets but it doesn't want so much gridlock that it stops some o beneficial things. one of the biggest issues we're looking at is taxes. we have the bush tax cuts expiring next year. we'll be looking for improvement, tax cuts for another year or those under $25o,000 some benefits there. we need some participation in congress. >> if the republicans gain control, after november and through the end of the year we

still have a lame duck session so it doesn't change things until next year. post elections we still have the same makeup for the tax issue prior to the end of the year. we will keep a close eye on the language coming out of the administration because if taxes increase that would be negative for the markets. >> wait until the e lection. >> same thing i have looked at since april, it will be choppy. we have some optimism and some is preelection optimism but large multinational dividend paying stocks. have some income so you have some improvement. >> megan. >> thanks so much jamie. >> 6:19. if your student is going to college, searching for internships or looking for a job, what should they wear?

my commute home to the eastern shore every night only takes an hour but that's more time than congress spends reading massive spending bills, it's crazy. that's why i wrote a law that requires 72 hours to read every bill. i read the big bills and i said no. no to the $3 trillion budget, no to the bank bailout, and no to the health care bill. at home you would never pay a bill without reading it neither should congress. i'm frank kratovil and i approve this message because i'm proud to be ranked one of the most independent members of congress.
